Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jean Lepautre could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Alcoves à l'Italienne: Five Plates changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 164.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Jean Lepautre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vases à l'antique: Six Plates in February 2003 with an auction result of USD 1,314.50 (€ 1,219.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean Lepautre konnte im Februar 2008 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Alcoves à l'Italienne: Five Plates für USD 250,00 (€ 164,61) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean Lepautre auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vases à l'antique: Six Plates im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.314,50 (€ 1.219,50).
