Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A vase of flowers by Jean Isy de Botton was auctioned at Christies in New York in August 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 720.00 (€ 562.81). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Isy de Botton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Coronation Portrait of Albert Frederick Arthur George His Majesty King George the Sixth of England in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 12,575.00 (€ 10,796.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A vase of flowers von Jean Isy de Botton im August 2006 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 720,00 (€ 562,81) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Isy de Botton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Coronation Portrait of Albert Frederick Arthur George His Majesty King George the Sixth of England im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.575,00 (€ 10.796,77).
