Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Seated Nude With A Blue Sheet by Jean Hippolyte Marchand for GBP 687.50 (€ 805.87). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Hippolyte Marchand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les laveurs le long de la rivière in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 15,063.08).
