In December 2016 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European & Orientalist Art, which included the work Portrait of Suzanne Valadon (1865-1938), aged 20 by Jean Eugène Clary. It changed hands for a price of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,075.98) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Other works by Jean Eugène Clary have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2016 the work French au Jardin Des Tuileries was auctioned for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 26,097.89).
