In April 2005 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Lucretia Grindle On Golden Sparrow by Jean Bowman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,360.00 (€ 2,600.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jean Bowman have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December last year the work Horses and Jockeys by a Track 20 1/8 x 24 3/8 in. was auctioned for USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,979.53).
