The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,394.00 (€ 2,753.80), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Singry have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of A Young Man in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 24,000.00 (€ 17,751.48).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Circa 1815 von Jean-Baptiste Singry wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Portrait Miniatures bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.394,00 (€ 2.753,80) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Singry auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of A Young Man im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.000,00 (€ 17.751,48).
