Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "La Femme Voilée" by Jean-Baptiste Santerre was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 53,125.00 (€ 39,351.85). Other works by Jean-Baptiste Santerre have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in February 2013 by the work Portrait Of A Young Lady With A Letter, Thought To Be Mademoiselle Christine-Antoinette-Charlotte Desmares at USD 98,500.00 (€ 75,311.57).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit "La Femme Voilée" von Jean-Baptiste Santerre im Januar 2014 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 53.125,00 (€ 39.351,85) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Santerre wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Februar 2013 die Arbeit Portrait Of A Young Lady With A Letter, Thought To Be Mademoiselle Christine-Antoinette-Charlotte Desmares mit USD 98.500,00 (€ 75.311,57).
