Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Pan and Syrinx by Jean-Baptiste Regnault was sold in the Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I auction at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 73,080.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Baptiste Regnault - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Venus And Adonis, which sold at auction in January 2015 for USD 293,000.00 (€ 259,521.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Pan and Syrinx von Jean-Baptiste Regnault wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 73.080,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Regnault mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Venus And Adonis beobachtet, die im Januar 2015 für USD 293.000,00 (€ 259.521,70) versteigert wurde.
