Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Works on Paper, which included the work Recto: Study Of A Seated Woman Verso: Standing Figure Study by Jean-Baptiste Pater. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 4,500.00 (€ 5,021.31). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Pater achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Bathers; The Swing in January 2003 with an auction result of USD 669,500.00 (€ 623,428.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Recto: Study Of A Seated Woman Verso: Standing Figure Study von Jean-Baptiste Pater zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 4.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 4.500,00 (€ 5.021,31) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Pater erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Bathers; The Swing im Januar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 669.500,00 (€ 623.428,62).
