In January 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work "La Cueillette Des Roses"; "Le Musicien" by Jean-Baptiste Pater. The »bidding war« ended at USD 581,000.00 (€ 430,370.37), 16% above the upper estimate. Other works by Jean-Baptiste Pater have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 669,500.00 (€ 623,428.62) in January 2003 for the work The Bathers; The Swing.
