The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album containing a frontispiece and 138 illustrations for books I to VI of the Fables of Jean de La Fontaine in January this year with an auction result of USD 2,700,000.00 (€ 2,486,645.79).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 17.640,00 (€ 15.416,89) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Oudry erzielen.
