Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Elegant Interior With A Woman Reading A Letter To A Friend; Elegant Interior With A Seated Woman Reading A Letter To A Boy by Jean-Baptiste Mallet for USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,411.99). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Baptiste Mallet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'Innocence Et La Fidélité Ramenant L'Amour, which sold at auction in November 2017 for EUR 31,200.00.

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00.
