Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work French Soldiers On The March, A Cannon Carriage In The Foreground by Jean-Baptiste Le Paon. The price achieved of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,346.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Baptiste Le Paon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Prince Of Nassau And The Chevalier D'Oraison Combating A Jaguar On The Coast Of Argentina, which sold at auction in June 2014 for USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,783.05).
