In February 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work French General Bonaparte by Jean Baptiste Édouard Detaille. The »bidding war« ended at USD 33,750.00 (€ 29,659.90), 69% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Baptiste Édouard Detaille - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French Défilé De Cavalerie Aux Grandes Manoeuvres, which sold at auction in November 2014 for USD 81,250.00 (€ 65,324.01).

Im Februar 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit French General Bonaparte von Jean Baptiste Édouard Detaille zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 33.750,00 (€ 29.659,90) und damit 69% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean Baptiste Édouard Detaille mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French Défilé De Cavalerie Aux Grandes Manoeuvres beobachtet, die im November 2014 für USD 81.250,00 (€ 65.324,01) versteigert wurde.
