Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Collection Jacques Ginepro, Une Vie de Sculptures, which included the work Frère et Soeur ou Les Deux Orphelins du siège (Brother and Sister or Two Orphans of the Siege) by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,410.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ugolin in March 2019 with an auction result of EUR 455,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Collection Jacques Ginepro, Une Vie de Sculptures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Frère et Soeur ou Les Deux Orphelins du siège (Brother and Sister or Two Orphans of the Siege) von Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.410,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ugolin im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 455.400,00.
