Auction result well in line with expectations
In February this year Christies in New York held the auction European Art, which included the work Buste du Génie de la danse by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux. The price achieved of USD 17,640.00 (€ 16,638.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ugolin in March 2019 with an auction result of EUR 455,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Buste du Génie de la danse von Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 17.640,00 (€ 16.638,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ugolin im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 455.400,00.
