Auction result well in line with expectations

In December 2014 Christies in London held the auction European Sculpture & Works of Art, which included the work A Plaster Bust Of Jean-Pierre-Charles Le Noir (1732-1807) by Jean-Antoine Houdon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,919.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Antoine Houdon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Marble Bust Of A Roman Youth, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 87,500.00 (€ 78,482.38).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Dezember 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion European Sculpture & Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Plaster Bust Of Jean-Pierre-Charles Le Noir (1732-1807) von Jean-Antoine Houdon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 20.919,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-Antoine Houdon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Marble Bust Of A Roman Youth beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 87.500,00 (€ 78.482,38) versteigert wurde.
