This artwork by Jaypee Samson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2008. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Pasang Awa sold for HKD 118,750.00 (€ 9,786.50) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. This high result makes Pasang Awa the most expensive artwork by Jaypee Samson that we have observed at auctions so far.
