In January 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Outsider Art, which included the work Untitled, 1942 by Janet Sobel. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,875.00 (€ 2,591.72), 44% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Janet Sobel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work untitled in September this year with an auction result of USD 76,200.00 (€ 71,995.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 44 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1942 von Janet Sobel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.875,00 (€ 2.591,72) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Janet Sobel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit untitled im September diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 76.200,00 (€ 71.995,46).
