Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work A Trompe L'Oeil With A Boy And A Monkey, A Formal Italianate Garden Beyond by Jan Weenix. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 104,500.00 (€ 79,899.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Weenix - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A sunflower, roses, parrot tulips, a carnation and other flowers in a glass vase on a partly draped marble table, which sold at auction in July 2000 for GBP 135,750.00 (€ 219,505.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Trompe L'Oeil With A Boy And A Monkey, A Formal Italianate Garden Beyond von Jan Weenix zur Versteigerung kam.
