In September 2008 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings 'Including Indonesian Art'., which included the work The draw-bridge by Jan van Rhijnnen. The price achieved of EUR 1,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The draw-bridge is the most expensive artwork by Jan van Rhijnnen that we have observed at auctions so far.
