Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Wooded Landscape With Cattle And Sheep In A Meadow Near A Farmhouse by Jan van Ravenswaay was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 700.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 240.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Ravenswaay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hirten mit Vieh am Waldrand in May 2013 with an auction result of EUR 10,965.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Cattle And Sheep In A Meadow Near A Farmhouse von Jan van Ravenswaay im November 2005 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 240,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Ravenswaay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hirten mit Vieh am Waldrand im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.965,00.
