The work Portrait of Maria van Heemskerck; and Portrait of Agatha Bartha van Heemskerck (2) by Jan van Mieris was worth GBP 17,562.50 (€ 19,501.66) to a buyer in October 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings at Bonhams in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Mieris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man And A Page Offering Fruit To A Seated Woman, In A Courtyard in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 225,367.35).
