Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX, which included the work A shepherd with sheep, goats and cows in a meadow at the edge of a wood by Jan van Gool. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,700.00 – 5,400.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,112.50 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan van Gool have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Elegant Company By A Tavern, With Cows, Sheep, Goats And Other Animals in May 2006 with an auction result of EUR 20,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX durch, in der auch die Arbeit A shepherd with sheep, goats and cows in a meadow at the edge of a wood von Jan van Gool zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.700,00 – 5.400,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.112,50 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan van Gool auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Elegant Company By A Tavern, With Cows, Sheep, Goats And Other Animals im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 20.400,00.
