Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jan-Pieter van Bredael could be acquired at Christies in New York in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Three Private Collections: Belgravia, Berkshire and Guernsey auction, the work A village festival with figures dancing and playing games, a wedding ceremony beyond changed hands for GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,660.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan-Pieter van Bredael - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A river landscape with peasants merrymaking beside a cottage; and A village landscape with peasants merrymaking outside an inn, which sold at auction in July 2004 for GBP 35,850.00 (€ 54,177.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
