Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Peasants brawling before an inn by Jan Miense Molenaer. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,205.74). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Miense Molenaer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Duet: A Self Portrait Of The Artist With His Wife, Judith Leyster, Probably Their Marriage Portrait in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,405,000.00 (€ 1,781,481.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peasants brawling before an inn von Jan Miense Molenaer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.205,74) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Miense Molenaer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Duet: A Self Portrait Of The Artist With His Wife, Judith Leyster, Probably Their Marriage Portrait im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.405.000,00 (€ 1.781.481,48).
