This artwork by Jan Ludewick de Wouters achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2004. In the OLD MASTER PICTURES & DRAWINGS auction, the work A moonlit riverside town on fire sold for GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,397.26) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Ludewick de Wouters - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A wooded river landscape with herdsmen resting with their cattle and sheep, cottages beyond, which sold at auction in May 2012 for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,131.90).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Ludewick de Wouters erzielte im Dezember 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES & DRAWINGS wurde die Arbeit A moonlit riverside town on fire für GBP 3.107,00 (€ 4.397,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00.
