Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jan Josef Horemans the Younger could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Paintings auction, the work A Family Taking Tea While Celebrating The Birth Of Twins changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,339.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Josef Horemans the Younger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cauliflower, onions, peaches, cherries, artichokes, roses in a glass vase, a jug, a basket with carrots, cabbages and eggs with a blue cloth on a table in April 2003 with an auction result of GBP 29,875.00 (€ 38,925.08).
