In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work A village scene with a puppeteer; and A domestic interior with a boy being scolded for breaking a plate sold for USD 27,400.00 (€ 18,938.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Josef Horemans the Younger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cauliflower, onions, peaches, cherries, artichokes, roses in a glass vase, a jug, a basket with carrots, cabbages and eggs with a blue cloth on a table, which sold at auction in April 2003 for GBP 29,875.00 (€ 38,925.08).
