Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Irises, peonies, roses, and other flowers surrounding a terracotta urn, with a birds' nest, grapes, and plums by Johannes Hendrik Fredriks. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 83,650.00 (€ 68,683.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Hendrik Fredriks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Melons, grapes, a lemon, peaches, plums, cherries, white currants, gooseberries, a bird's nest, a pineapple and hollyhocks on a draped marble ledge by a niche with a butterfy, a beetle, flies, a bumble bee and a songbird nearby, which sold at auction in May 2000 for NLG 386,166.00 (€ 168,616.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Irises, peonies, roses, and other flowers surrounding a terracotta urn, with a birds' nest, grapes, and plums von Johannes Hendrik Fredriks zur Versteigerung kam. Für andere Arbeiten von Johannes Hendrik Fredriks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Melons, grapes, a lemon, peaches, plums, cherries, white currants, gooseberries, a bird's nest, a pineapple and hollyhocks on a draped marble ledge by a niche with a butterfy, a beetle, flies, a bumble bee and a songbird nearby beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für
