Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work A still life with books, a jug, a vase and a bottle by Jan den Hengst for NLG 760.63 (€ 323.59). This price was achieved in the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of NLG 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Jan den Hengst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A square in Paris in January 2006 with an auction result of EUR 1,560.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2000 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A still life with books, a jug, a vase and a bottle von Jan den Hengst für NLG 760,63 (€ 323,59) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von NLG 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan den Hengst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A square in Paris im Januar 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.560,00.
