Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Intimacy by Jan Commandeur was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,375.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Commandeur - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (No.1), which sold at auction in April 2011 for EUR 5,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Intimacy von Jan Commandeur im März 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.375,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Commandeur mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (No.1) beobachtet, die im April 2011 für EUR 5.000,00 versteigert wurde.
