Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Amsterdam, A View Of The Heiligewegspoort From The North-West, With Skaters On A Frozen Canal by Jan Abrahamsz. Beerstraaten was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2011. The price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 42,749.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Abrahamsz. Beerstraaten achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch Ships At Anchor In A Calm Harbor, With Dignitaries In A Barge Approaching The Royal Yacht Of Prince William Ii, And A Ferry Transporting A Cannon In The Foreground in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 560,000.00 (€ 504,822.86).
