Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ferryden, Montrose by James Watterson Herald was auctioned at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October last year. The price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,485.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Watterson Herald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Morning, Fishwives, East Coast in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 12,925.00 (€ 22,092.52).
