This artwork by James Watterson Herald achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Edinburgh in May last year. In the Scottish Art auction, the work Cattle resting in dappled shade sold for GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,749.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by James Watterson Herald have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Morning, Fishwives, East Coast in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 12,925.00 (€ 22,092.52).

Dieses Kunstwerk von James Watterson Herald erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Edinburgh einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Scottish Art wurde die Arbeit Cattle resting in dappled shade für GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.749,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Watterson Herald auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Morning, Fishwives, East Coast im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.925,00 (€ 22.092,52).
