This artwork by James Valentine Jelley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in January 2007. In the The Lyndon Goodwin Harris Collection of Watercolours by Albert Goodwin, Joseph Edward Southall & Other Artists auction, the work The depths of winter sold for GBP 1,140.00 (€ 1,720.00) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Valentine Jelley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dawn, which sold at auction in April 2006 for GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,810.27).

Dieses Kunstwerk von James Valentine Jelley erzielte im Januar 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Lyndon Goodwin Harris Collection of Watercolours by Albert Goodwin, Joseph Edward Southall & Other Artists wurde die Arbeit The depths of winter für GBP 1.140,00 (€ 1.720,00) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Valentine Jelley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dawn beobachtet, die im April 2006 für GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.810,27) versteigert wurde.
