Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work On the moor by James Thomas Linnell. The price achieved of GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,346.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Thomas Linnell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Firs And Furze in December 2008 with an auction result of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 36,602.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the moor von James Thomas Linnell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.280,00 (€ 3.346,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Thomas Linnell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Firs And Furze im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.850,00 (€ 36.602,64).
