Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An inconsolable peasant girl before ruins on the Italian coast by James Talmage White was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004. The price achieved of GBP 597.50 (€ 902.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Talmage White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Capo di Sorrento in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 14,100.00 (€ 22,350.24).
