In May 2004 Christies in Sydney held the auction THE JOHN SCHAEFFER COLLECTION AT RONA, which included the work Portrait of a Young Woman by James Quinn. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 1,912.00 (€ 1,117.12), 27% above the upper estimate. Other works by James Quinn have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 2,280.00 (€ 1,363.39) in August 2007 for the work Australian Woman With Veil.
