Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by James Price could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction, the work A shepherd driving his flock before a country cottage changed hands for GBP 155.35 (€ 234.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Admittedly, works by James Price have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures before a cottage in a wooded landscape; and A herder with sheep in a wooded landscape in September 2001 with an auction result of GBP 587.50 (€ 948.56).
