The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,573.65), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Pollard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The London-Edinburgh Royal Mail coach setting a brisk pace on a summer day in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 124,600.16).
