In November 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Sporting Art, which included the work British Going To The Derby, The Speed Eagle Epsom by James Pollard. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,500.00 (€ 15,318.63), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Pollard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The London-Edinburgh Royal Mail coach setting a brisk pace on a summer day in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 124,600.16).

Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Sporting Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit British Going To The Derby, The Speed Eagle Epsom von James Pollard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 15.318,63) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Pollard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The London-Edinburgh Royal Mail coach setting a brisk pace on a summer day im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 106.250,00 (€ 124.600,16).
