Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Boy on a magic rocking horse by James Osborne was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 802.78). Other works by James Osborne have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in February 2021 by the work A patinated bronze equestrian model entitled 'Fighting Stallions' at GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,176.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Boy on a magic rocking horse von James Osborne im September 2014 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 625,00 (€ 802,78) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von James Osborne wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Februar 2021 die Arbeit A patinated bronze equestrian model entitled 'Fighting Stallions' mit GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.176,38).
