Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work A View of the Bay Bridge, Looking Toward San Francisco from Clipper Cove Beach on Yerba Buena Island by James March Phillips. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,824.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by James March Phillips have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in August 2018 the work The Golden Gate was auctioned for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,389.79).
