Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Reculver, commonly called 'The Two Sisters', near Margate, 1798 by James Malton was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2011. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 625.00 (€ 707.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Malton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View Of The Provost'S House And Trinity College, Grafton Street, 1796 in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,108.40).
