Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Gentleman by James Latham was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,180.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Latham - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a gentleman, previously thought to be a self portrait of the artist, bust-length, in a silver brocaded jacket, painted oval, which sold at auction in May 2002 for GBP 14,340.00 (€ 22,456.63).
