In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction THE IRISH SALE, which included the work View of the Quays with the Customs House beyond, Dublin by James Hore. The price achieved of GBP 27,485.00 (€ 41,237.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, View of the Quays with the Customs House beyond, Dublin is the most expensive artwork by James Hore that we have observed at auctions so far.
