Auction result well in line with expectations
The work My Portrait in 1960 by James Ensor was sold in the Dance of Death auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November this year. The price achieved of USD 4,096.00 (€ 3,755.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,500.00 – 5,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Ensor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Squelette Arrêtant Masquessigned Ensor And Dated 91 (Lower Right); Oil On Canvas. Painted In 1891. in December 2016 with an auction result of EUR 7,357,500.00.

Die Arbeit My Portrait in 1960 von James Ensor wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Dance of Death bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.096,00 (€ 3.755,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.500,00 – 5.500,00 angegeben worden.
