Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A fisherman's family by James Clarke Waite was sold in the BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES auction at Christies in London in September 2000. The price achieved of GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,342.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,800.00 – 2,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Clarke Waite - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Farmyard with Two Figures, Chickens and White Horse in Harness, which sold at auction in April 2003 for AUD 23,500.00 (€ 11,983.47).
