Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Coupe 5 by James Brown was sold in the Art Belge & Contemporain / Belgische & Hedendaagse Kunst auction at Bonhams in June this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 896.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ohne Titel in June 2019 with an auction result of EUR 64,480.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Coupe 5 von James Brown wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Art Belge & Contemporain / Belgische & Hedendaagse Kunst bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 896,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ohne Titel im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 64.480,00.
